What is Kalident Biomimetic Hydroxyapatite?

Kalident is a biomimetic Hydroxyapatite developed by Kalichem to replicate the mineral characteristics of human dental enamel. Hydroxyapatite naturally represents around 97% of tooth enamel and 70% of dentin, making it a highly biocompatible mineral for oral care applications.

How Does Biomimetic Hydroxyapatite Work?

Biomimetic Hydroxyapatite works through a dual mechanism:

  1. Enamel surface adhesion

The particles integrate with the tooth surface, filling microscopic defects and increasing the mineral reservoir available for enamel repair.

  1. Calcium and phosphate ion exchange

The pH-dependent dissolution process releases mineral ions into saliva, supporting the physiological remineralization process.
